The Apartment Owners and Managers Association of Wisconsin is a trade organization for companies that own and manage apartment communities and affiliated companies that provide products or services to the apartment industry. We are unable to answer questions from residents or respond to any inquiries.
If you are having a legal issue, we recommend you contact an attorney who specializes in landlord-tenant law in Wisconsin.
While you are entitled to a copy of your lease, we do not have copies, and you will need to ask your apartment community for a copy if you did not receive one when you signed it originally.
What is the Apartment Owners and Managers Association of Wisconsin (AOMA) and what do you do?
The AOMA is a trade association founded in 1974 to represent the multifamily housing industry in Southeastern Wisconsin and now represents every county in Wisconsin except for one. The membership includes apartment property owners, management companies, independent rental property owners (less than 100 units), developers and suppliers to the industry. Our focus is legislation, education, networking and communication for the industry.
Are all apartment communities in Wisconsin required to be members of AOMA?
AOMA membership is voluntary. Apartment communities are affiliated through the membership of their owner/manager. Most professionally managed apartment homes in Wisconsin are currently members as they are dedicated to quality rental housing.
How do I join AOMA? Who can be a member?
Membership in the Apartment Owners and Managers Association is open to companies that own, manage or develop multifamily rental housing, as well as those businesses that provide products and/or services to the industry.
You can join online and learn more about the benefits of becoming a member of AOMA; you may also print a copy of the membership application and submit it with payment to the AOMA office.

The best way to make the most of your membership is to become involved.
If you are a first time volunteer, the Membership Committee is the training ground for future service in other committees. If you are interested in participating on a committee, visit our Committees and Volunteers area on our website.
In addition to serving on a committee, AOMA offers many events throughout the year that are outstanding opportunities to network with your fellow AOMA members. Check the Upcoming Events regularly to see what is coming up.
How many members belong to AOMA?
AOMA currently has more than 100 member companies comprised of apartment owner/management companies, and professional service members who provide products or services to the multi-housing industry. Our owner/manager members represent 50,000+ apartment homes spread across nearly 200 apartment communities.
